Our operational capacity and effectiveness will gauge how well we
do # 1 and #2.

- Initial creation of the board was to act as a “think tank” or “governing
body” for general direction and inspiration … and that has worked well
and is valuable.
- The board’s focus needs to be re-centered on sustaining the operational
capacity of the ministry.

- This ministry has many critical components regarding it’s operational
capacity:
- Vision Casting (mission, core values, deployment)
- Finance (Fund Raising, Ministry Partners)
- Communications (Churches, Parents, Students, School)
- Events (Outreach and Service)
- Facility
- All components are inter-dependent and vital for long term longevity.

- The Director will be responsible for assembling a team that will develop
strong prayer support from individuals, churches, and support groups.
- Recruit Prayer Partners
- Communicate with prayer partners, churches and support groups
concerning prayer needs
- Send out quarterly newsletter with updates praises and prayer concerns.

- The Director will be responsible in assembling a team of volunteers that
will develop a system for effective raising of funds:
- Fund Raising
- Organizes 2 fund raising events per year
- Work with other local groups (Fire Dept., Police Dept., School Groups,
etc.) in promoting fundraisers.
- Ministry Partners
- Recruit additional Ministry Partners on an ongoing basis.
- Schedule Home meetings that will enable Dan to share vision with
potential partners.
- Corporate Sponsors
- Develop a system that will promote corporate sponsors.

- The Director will establish a team that will recruit, qualify, train,
organize and deploy our adult volunteers.
- Setup opportunities to promote volunteerism.
- Setup training opportunities (quarterly).
- Schedule volunteers for events, Student Center, etc.
- Develop and maintain a data base on all volunteers.
- Develop and administer the qualification process.

- The Director will establish a team that would promote SI to area
Churches.
- Schedule presentations/updates before the Ministerial Association. (semi-annually)
- Schedule opportunities to share the vision of SI with local churches
with the goal to recruit them as a sponsoring church.
- Meet with the local pastors and communicate SI activities, identify
synergies related to youth activities/outreach, solicit ministry
partnership participation. (quarterly)

- The Director will establish a team that will promote SI to parents and
provide opportunities for education.
- Develop an effective means of communication
with Parents/Guardians.
- Quarterly Newsletter
- Flyers, Note cards, etc.
- Large gatherings that gives SI the opportunity to
share updates and vision to parents.
- Provide events that promote effective parenting.
- Develop means of recruiting parent volunteers.
- Develop opportunities for parents to give financially.

- The Director will establish a team that will promote SI through various
mediums.
- All content will be generated by this team.
- Organize and distribute SI information to
local papers and publications.
- Organize and distribute flyers/handouts
for events.
- Solicit content and maintain the web site.

system for effective expansion of SI
to other communities.

- If we build a team that gets more people involved with definite ministry
outlines and goals established, we will:
- Reach more teens with the gospel.
- Raise more money to meet present and future needs.
- Expand SI into other communities
- Better inform people of who we are and
what God has called us to do.
- See part three of our vision become a reality.
- If not, burn out and stagnation is inevitable!

- Responsible for clear and concise communication of the board meeting
minutes.
- Monitor and audit the expenses of the ministry on a monthly basis.
- Issue tax exempt donation documents.
- Involved in the budget approval process.
- Participate in all major activities:
fund raisers, outreach, etc,
- Assist in defining the roles and responsibilities of the directors.
