Student Impact is student focused!
With all of the pressures students face today it is important to have an organization that is strictly focused on meeting their needs. More and more, students are driven to the use of violence in order to be heard. Twenty eight students and teachers were killed, and 75 wounded on school campuses across the United States in the 1998 -1999 school year. Student Impact desires to provide opportunities for students to be heard. On NBC's Dateline several students from different backgrounds and groups were brought together to talk about their fears and frustrations. The program concluded by saying their greatest fear was un-acceptance.
For many students, growing up is tough. They face many challenges in a complex culture filled with sexual pressures, substance abuse, loneliness and family problems. Student Impact is committed to providing opportunities that enable students to make successful and healthy choices. We are committed in recruiting and developing a volunteer staff that is focused on meeting their needs.
